Hello, Friends of the Citizens Party and My Campaign for Congress:
I have a feeling that if I don't surprise the nation by winning the August 5 primary outright, it's going to be close for 2nd place between me and Doug Basler, and whoever gets 2nd will be taking on Adam Smith in the General Election. Basler will have the benefit of a strong party-line vote since there are no other Republicans on the ballot. This so-called 2-party system, with scores of politicians around the nation shuffling back and forth doing service for both, is practically a sham in its present form, and one of the reasons why it needs to be dented, at least.
In the last two years, I have sought to overcome the 3rd party disadvantage by working harder than the other 3 candidates put together, and I am 100% sure that I have worked harder than any one of them. I have been on the campaign trail for this election even before the last election for this seat ended. I think two years of hard work, since August, 2012, is finally going to pay off next Tuesday evening. Yet, Basler's party-line vote is going to be tough to overcome, so it will be close. This is where my supporters come in, because with a few days left, there are still thousands of votes to be had, so if you can do one or two of the following, that would be a big help:
Sincerely,
Mark Greene, candidate for U.S. Representative, 9th Congressional District, Citizens Party

This is where my supporters come in, because with a few days left, there are still thousands of votes to be had, so if you can do one or two of the following, that would be a big help:
- Go on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in the final days and write "Mark Greene for Congress, Citizens Party" all over the place, but try to target this message as precisely as you can to the Puget Sound region (see 9th District cities on #4. on this list).
- Reach out to family members and friends whom you know are registered, but may be a little lackadaisical about voting. Tell them you will loan or get them a stamp, if necessary, and mail their ballot for them.
- There's still time to write a quick "letter to the editor" to papers and get it published by August 5, but don't delay.
- If you have a lot of time on your hands, write a script promoting this citizens' & nation-oriented campaign, get a telephone book, and call up people in the following cities or areas: Bellevue, Mercer Island, S.E. Seattle, Newcastle, Tukwila, SeaTac, Des Moines, Renton, Kent, Federal Way, N.E. Tacoma.
- Send a donation of $10, or whatever you can afford, to "Mark Greene for Congress," P.O. Box 612, Bellevue, WA 98009. My campaign presently has a Federal Election Commission file number.
- It doesn't hurt to remind people that my 2 opponents who are not the incumbent, Don Rivers and Doug Basler, refused to debate by omission (that would be Rivers) or made a poor excuse not to debate (that would be Basler) .
Sincerely,
Mark Greene, candidate for U.S. Representative, 9th Congressional District, Citizens Party
