Opponent's Non-Campaign

The non-campaign of Basler for U.S. Representative is an obvious distraction in the race for the Top 2, for what motive we have no idea since there is no campaign as far as Reliability can ascertain, and put on the ballot in the last hours of the last day of candidate filing.  Alternatively, Mark Greene has been running for the 9th District office for almost two years (since August of 2012), has shaken hundreds of hands, and spoken to thousands of voters from all over the 9th Congressional District.  Most Republicans in the New 9th Congressional District (overwhelmingly a Democratic district) realize that any chance of defeating Adam Smith rests with Greene's triangular political approach, in other words getting to the right and left of Smith on the various issues. and thereby voting "Citizens" in 2014.  Mark Greene probably won the G.O.P. primary in the Old 9th District in 2004 [ http://partyofcommons.blogspot.com/2013/02/major-election-irregularities-graph_26.html ]

Smith Mum on "Keystone"

But Challenger Mark Greene Calls Keystone XL an Environmental Disaster In the Making "You have got to be kidding," would be the response if someone told the Revived Citizens Party that even the inept present government of the United States, that fairly recently propounded the ruination of the Gulf of Mexico with its decisions, was going to build a gargantuan oil pipeline, to carry some of the most environmentally damaging type of oil known to mankind (tar sands), to run through the agricultural heartland of America.  But nope, they're not kidding  -- that's exactly what they are going to do after the elections are over, and Obama will then have free sailing to continue being one of the worst environmental presidents in history.  They have already got the pipes and a lot of the infrastructure for the Keystone XL pipeline built, so anybody with any clue whatsoever knows that the decision has already been made, and it's just the timing that is proving to be a

You Can Be Sure That Hollywood Won't Send Me a Dime

To My Republican Friends and Other Friends The Hollywood glitterati and intelligentsia in this country won't send me a dime for my Congressional campaign in the 9th District of Washington.  Not one single dime --  you can be sure of that, my Republican, Democratic and Independent friends.   For years, I have been one of the most socially conservative politicians in the State of Washington and nothing has changed and nothing will change in that regard.  I have tremendous respect for the universal moral code that all humanity reveres, including more accountability for our government officials , the Holy Bible, ordained by the Almighty, and I believe in having non-religious universal morality, ethics and civics classes in our public schools, and that they should be a major part of the curriculum.  Hollywood will have nothing to do with me, and that makes perfect sense.   -- Mark Greene, Candidate for Congress, Washington 9th District (Revived Citizens Party) [revised on

Campaign Break Will Be Short

Despite my last post, "Marathon: Running for Congress," I will actually be back in the saddle before June.  For a few days, I will be working on my voters' guide submission, which is generally office work, relaxation breaks, and catching up with state and national political news.  I will also be making some requests to politically-connected individuals about donations to my campaign, which is important in politics as you know, so if anybody reading these words can send any amount of dollars to my campaign, see the contribution section to the right side of this blog, and please donate.  We really do have a chance to flank Adam Smith on the right and the left in the General Election, called the triangular strategy by political analysts, and to build a broad coalition of Republicans, Democrats, Third Parties and Independents.  This "no-name" major-party candidate we will have to contend with, for a spot in the General Election, can be electorally defeated by ha

Marathon: Running for Congress

Getting On the Ballot   As I was eligible, like a lot of other unfunded third party, independent and non-establishment major party candidates, to get on the ballot by petition, this is a path to run for office and my path to help preserve American democracy, civil liberties and what economic sensibility and stabilization still exists in the system, and to expand on all of these and keep us out of needless interventionism (not that some interventionism isn't needed).  However, I have found that trying to use a petition to forward political goals is abound with ironies.  Such as the irony of being reminded all too often that there are very few public places in democratic America where petitions are allowed or encouraged, including government venues.  From fending off hecklers to being ignominiously ignored by more than a few passersby, from sometimes general harassment to being hounded by guardians of government institutions for having the gall to partake in the right of petiti

Mark Greene, Congress, and the Revived Citizens Party

On Friday, May 16th, 2014,  Mark Greene  went to the office of the Secretary of State in Olympia, Washington and officially filed for U.S. Congress for the sixth time in his life (including for the Senate in 2006), with a record of two out of three primary victories in the prior contests that required primaries.  This election is for the office of U.S. Representative from the 9th District of Washington state.  Greene filled out papers, bantered with officials, and smiled at touring school kids visiting the Capitol.  Greene filed for office under the Citizens Party label, an old party that was first started under the direction of Barry Commoner, a prominent environmentalist, back in the late 1970s.  Greene joined the Citizens Party when he lived in Minnesota during the 80s, but since then the party disbanded, and now we're trying to revive its memory and reputation.  The "Citizens" name as used in this election is not related to any other offshoot of that nam

Prologue

Today, the Millionaire 113th U.S. Congress has the lowest popularity of any in history, but only time will tell if the voters around our nation will vote out, in 2014, this unreliable, dismal Congress, which has been out-of-step with the common woman and man for a long time.  It's time to send a wake-up call to the mainline two parties by voting in as many independents and third party candidates as possible, in the hope that someday we can build a strong third party that will be just as viable in elections as Democrats and Republicans.  This blog, "Reliability," will help to start that process by giving you the information for the efforts of one organization, yet to be officially named, but affiliated with the Party of Commons, to bring reliable candidates into local, state and national offices.  Our primary goal this year is to elect Mark Greene to Congress in the 9th Congressional District of Washington state.  Keep a watch on this site, because no mainstream news med
