Citizens Party & Mark Greene Will Need Voters' Help In Pre-Primary Date Phase

The Citizens Party and Mark Greene are asking voters who are reading this post to help Mark make the Top 2 by contacting 5 other registered voters who live in the 9th Congressional District (Bellevue, Mercer Island, S.E. Seattle, Newcastle, Tukwila, SeaTac, Des Moines, Renton, Kent, Federal Way, N.E. Tacoma [Pierce County] and some unincorporated areas of King County) and asking them to vote for this citizens,' common people's and nation-oriented campaign.

It doesn't matter which mode of communication that you use, whether it's face-to-face, phone, social media or whatever, but making 5 contacts is the most important part.  If everybody reading these words did that, that could mean an extra couple of thousand votes right there, but definitely a thousand, at least.  If this campaign could just increase by a tenth the amount of support that it already has before the August 5th primary, then Mark Greene would be practically assured of making the Top 2 and thereby being in the General Election against the internationalist-oriented congressman, Adam Smith.  Just 5 by August 5 - thank you!

Other steps that you could do to help the campaign before the 5th of August, 2014:

  1. Write a letter to editor to the Seattle Times or the Tacoma News Tribune, or smaller papers, in support of Mark Greene for Congress.
  2. Write out a script, then call people you don't know from the telephone book of your city, and remind them that ballots must be in before Aug. 5, and ask them to vote for Mark Greene for Congress.  If you're from Seattle, remember that only the S.E. section of the city, basically bordering Tukwila and Renton, and close or fairly close to Lake Washington, is in the 9th.
  3. Send a donation of $10, or whatever you can afford, to the campaign: "Mark Greene for Congress:"  P.O. Box 612, Bellevue, WA 98009.  (Accidentally had wrong box number in there for a few minutes, so please double-check before mailing.  Thanks.)

Our Washington State Lieutenant Governor Candidate Blog

There will be a special place to write about the Lieutenant Governor 2016 election, which I'm in, and specifically Washington state issues and matters, generally, even when the election is over.  All of the recent Lieutenant Governor posts on FW Politics  will be carried over to the new blog, Washingtonian.   I am proud to be a natural-born American and a Washingtonian, and I will need your vote to stand up for the Common Man in our state and our nation.   [Originally posted on Washingtonian on April 29, 2016; revised on May 26, 2016.]

With the Press, Again

As long-time readers of my blogs know, my relationship with the media has been acrimonious at times, though I realize, of course, that the press is an essential part of politics and democracy in our nation, and of course the relationship between politicians and the press is going to be often disharmonious because they have distinctly different interests.  That doesn't mean that one or both sides cannot be at fault at varying times, and both sides often are. So with all that in mind, my first thought today is, though I am sure that the H-1B system for hiring temporary foreign workers has been widely abused, there is a big distinction between that system and the system for permanent residents being in the job market.  In the interest of my views being as publicly accurate as possible, I'll say this: I more or less support the law that infers that official permanent residents should be treated...
