The Pos. #1 Race & An Age-Old Journalistic Trick

In his on-line column about the city's policy on marijuana stores, today, Federal Way Mirror columnist, Bob Roegner, is using the same trick that the Associated Press used in a former election that I was in.   It's an old trick that some journalists use to please their bosses (the owners of the particular entity for which they work) that may not want real representatives of the people sitting on govt. councils or legislatures.  They "decide," not the campaigns and debates, which candidates are deemed upper tiered or lower-tiered, if not altogether dismissed, based on pretty much nothing than their own prerogatives.  In the other column by Roegner, I thought there might be an outside chance that  his "two-way race" characterization was just an oversight, now it's beginning to look intentional.

Roegner, as he did in his column from two weeks ago, is shaping the position #1 election as just a two-way race between Assefa-Dawson and Murrietta, when it is actually three-way, according to P.D.C. records, to date.  Moreover, no candidate has worked harder on this election than me.  Now, that the local paper may be angling this election all the way to the August 4th Primary, when I want to go home after talking to FW citizens and shaking hands all day, I'll probably stay another hour or two with the campaign for that day.  I should be thanking Mr. Roegner through this post for probably helping me exhaust my full energies for this campaign, which may help me make the Top 2 more than anything.

Mark Greene for Federal Way Mayor

I am officially announcing for Mayor of Federal Way, today, as I was able to obtain sufficient resources to file with the Elections Department on May 18th, 2017, and able to run a full campaign until the August 1st Primary, and hopefully beyond. This All-American Relief campaign will start picking up steam around the beginning of June, as now I'm concentrating on getting about 100 signs on the ground.  Next week, I will be sending out press releases to the major publications in our area: the  Times , the  News Tribune , and the  Mirror.   For more information about this campaign of common sense philosophy and patriotic fervor, see my website and keep up with the posts on this blog, as they usually come about twice a week or more. -- Mark Greene, Official Candidate for Mayor of Federal Way Campaign Website:  ALL-AMERICAN RELIEF Campaign Blog:   FW Politics

Turning Inward

As a result of the incompetence of the Iraqi Maliki regime, and the perfidy of Bush/Cheney 12 years ago, Iraq appears to be on the verge of a major civil war after several years of skirmishes between ethnic, religious and political divisions.  Now, politicians in America want Uncle Sam to get involved in that morass, again, after many of these same politicians are the same ones that started it in the first place when they backed Bush II's call for the invasion of Iraq from 2002 - 2003.  This new call for overt interventionism should be rejected.  Our nation must defend against threats from fanatical organizations by choosing our battles judiciously, wisely and without creating a climate that would broaden regional sympathy for religious fanatics or terrorists.  Getting mixed up in the Iraqi civil war in a major way would not be the least bit smart, and lest we forget, Congressional consent is necessary...

Our Washington State Lieutenant Governor Candidate Blog

There will be a special place to write about the Lieutenant Governor 2016 election, which I'm in, and specifically Washington state issues and matters, generally, even when the election is over.  All of the recent Lieutenant Governor posts on FW Politics  will be carried over to the new blog, Washingtonian.   I am proud to be a natural-born American and a Washingtonian, and I will need your vote to stand up for the Common Man in our state and our nation.   [Originally posted on Washingtonian on April 29, 2016; revised on May 26, 2016.]
