Leaning Towards Federal Way City Council Run

I'm an idealistic person, and I think I would make a very good state representative, but with rumors floating around that a million dollars might be put into the various campaigns for the State Representative Special Election this year, and of course nearly none of that is going to me since I don't cater to corporate special interests, I may file for the Federal Way City Council, Position #1, instead.  In fact, at this point, it's more likely than not that I'll make the more pragmatic decision, which is running for Council, but you never really know until sign-up time at one or another elections office (state or county), so stay tuned for candidate filing week this year, which is May 11th - May 15th.  Presuming that the incumbent in Position #1 on the Council is also going to run, remember, that she is an appointed person to the Council, not elected, and that's the main reason why I chose to run for this particular position number, as all of the other incumbents up for election this year have been elected.  Not that I would necessarily shy away from running against any incumbent, but Position #1 is more or less an open seat, so I'm going to be very pragmatic, for a change, and go for the de facto "open" seat, even though we realize, of course, that every political seat up for election is, in fact, open.

As I have been telling my fellow Federal Way citizens, I am for the common person, and most of us don't have extra money sitting around to give to political campaigns, even if the candidates are great on the issues, so don't expect a fancy campaign apparatus from me; my literature might be a little more plain than you're used to, and I'll be lucky to have any signs at all, but I will give it my all through a grassroots campaign, and I'm practically sure there will be more than one opponent, which could be better for my chances.  Just remember, the fancier the campaign, the more big money that is behind it.  Now, think about that last sentence for a moment, and think about the "special interests" where big money for campaigns comes from.

Please, keep up with this blog between now and the election to find out more about me, and where I stand on the issues, as this is just an introductory post to those who may not be aware of my career in the political arena.  The primary will be taking place from July - August.  In the meantime, you might want to peruse old posts on this blog (there's an archive section at the bottom of the page), and read the profile about me and the Revived Citizens Party on one of the side columns.  Thank you for your interest in this campaign.

Globalist Folly

We tried to get by without ever mentioning Colin Kaepernick's name on our blogs or websites, but the fake news media is running with the ball, so to speak, so just to let them know that their, Kaepernick's  and LeBron James' propaganda doesn't work with the Revived Citizens Party, the RCP stands as follows: Starting with multimillionaire Kaepernick's decision last year to metaphorically thumb his nose at the National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner," and to sit on the bench or kneel on a knee while the Anthem was playing, because he thinks America has too many faults or something like that, he became the Pied Piper of disrespecting national symbols, particularly the Anthem, apparently until the country yields to whatever his particular idea of what a nation should be is.  However, even if Kaepernick's concerns do merit some kind of national rectification, which they may well indeed, when would our natio...

Mark Greene for Federal Way Mayor

I am officially announcing for Mayor of Federal Way, today, as I was able to obtain sufficient resources to file with the Elections Department on May 18th, 2017, and able to run a full campaign until the August 1st Primary, and hopefully beyond. This All-American Relief campaign will start picking up steam around the beginning of June, as now I'm concentrating on getting about 100 signs on the ground.  Next week, I will be sending out press releases to the major publications in our area: the  Times , the  News Tribune , and the  Mirror.   For more information about this campaign of common sense philosophy and patriotic fervor, see my website and keep up with the posts on this blog, as they usually come about twice a week or more. -- Mark Greene, Official Candidate for Mayor of Federal Way Campaign Website:  ALL-AMERICAN RELIEF Campaign Blog:   FW Politics

Fool Them

Weakness and Strongness The computer put a red line under "strongness" in my subtitle.  Too bad, I like it, so I'm keeping that "non-word." Call it my invention, if you will.  You cannot imagine the emotions that welled up in me last night watching an old 1980s movie called "St. Elmo's Fire."  It's a movie that I never saw at the time that it first ran, circa 1985, but kind of watched it since then, off and on, after it aged 20 years or so, and began seeing it on television from time to time.  Last night, I came upon it about 15 minutes from the start, and watched it more closely than ever until the end.  I love the theme music, though non-lyrical, it's part of the magic of the movie, I believe.  In the 80s, I was just slightly older than the main characters in the movie.  It really brought back a lot of memories from that decade, particularly a period from the years 1980 - 1981, and it...
