Position Number Gimmickry in F.W.? Nah

If all goes as expected, incumbent city councilmembers in Federal Way will file for reelection or retention in their present position numbers, as normal though not a legal mandate, and other declared candidates will file in positions as noted in their Public Disclosure statements, if noted at all.  However, in politics, not much surprises me, and position number gimmickry involving positions at filing time would hardly be shocking or new.  I was fascinated during one local election season in King County, and I believe it was going on in a couple of cities or more, where candidates were switching position numbers like people switching socks even though they had to withdraw their candidacies and re-file again.  So I would not be shocked if suddenly in mid-May I am facing unexpected candidates for Position 1, which I definitely won't be switching from.  Possible gimmickry that affects Pos. 1, however, will be pointed out for what it is.

Globalist Folly

We tried to get by without ever mentioning Colin Kaepernick's name on our blogs or websites, but the fake news media is running with the ball, so to speak, so just to let them know that their, Kaepernick's  and LeBron James' propaganda doesn't work with the Revived Citizens Party, the RCP stands as follows: Starting with multimillionaire Kaepernick's decision last year to metaphorically thumb his nose at the National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner," and to sit on the bench or kneel on a knee while the Anthem was playing, because he thinks America has too many faults or something like that, he became the Pied Piper of disrespecting national symbols, particularly the Anthem, apparently until the country yields to whatever his particular idea of what a nation should be is.  However, even if Kaepernick's concerns do merit some kind of national rectification, which they may well indeed, when would our natio...

Mark Greene for Federal Way Mayor

I am officially announcing for Mayor of Federal Way, today, as I was able to obtain sufficient resources to file with the Elections Department on May 18th, 2017, and able to run a full campaign until the August 1st Primary, and hopefully beyond. This All-American Relief campaign will start picking up steam around the beginning of June, as now I'm concentrating on getting about 100 signs on the ground.  Next week, I will be sending out press releases to the major publications in our area: the  Times , the  News Tribune , and the  Mirror.   For more information about this campaign of common sense philosophy and patriotic fervor, see my website and keep up with the posts on this blog, as they usually come about twice a week or more. -- Mark Greene, Official Candidate for Mayor of Federal Way Campaign Website:  ALL-AMERICAN RELIEF Campaign Blog:   FW Politics

Moneypolitics

I'm always behind the curve, time wise, in seeing the best movies, but I just saw Moneyball with Brad Pitt about a couple of weeks ago.  Suddenly, I started comparing politics with baseball, again, as I did with "Leo's Maxim" some time ago.  In Moneyball, basically, the Brad Pitt character had to deal with the lowest budget, or close to it, of all the other major league teams in baseball, yet also try to build a competing team for the American League championship.  Pitt's character, Billy Beane, the General Manager, succeeded by making the playoffs in the year 2002 by having one of the best records in A.L. history, 103 victories, and setting the A.L. record for the most consecutive victories in history, 20 in a row. Beane and his Asst. General Manager devised a system of using statistics to overcome their money disadvantage and it proved that numbers can override money with persistence and strategy.  I believe that the same principle...
