Mark Greene, Congress, and the Revived Citizens Party

On Friday, May 16th, 2014, Mark Greene went to the office of the Secretary of State in Olympia, Washington and officially filed for U.S. Congress for the sixth time in his life (including for the Senate in 2006), with a record of two out of three primary victories in the prior contests that required primaries.  This election is for the office of U.S. Representative from the 9th District of Washington state.  Greene filled out papers, bantered with officials, and smiled at touring school kids visiting the Capitol.  Greene filed for office under the Citizens Party label, an old party that was first started under the direction of Barry Commoner, a prominent environmentalist, back in the late 1970s.  Greene joined the Citizens Party when he lived in Minnesota during the 80s, but since then the party disbanded, and now we're trying to revive its memory and reputation.  The "Citizens" name as used in this election is not related to any other offshoot of that name, anywhere in the country, that is not affiliated with the old Citizens Party, nor officially related with the disbanded party.

In the last few hours before the filing deadline, a novice Republican filed for office, which will make our outreach to Republicans more difficult, given the power of "label" voting, than it otherwise would have been.  Nonetheless, we welcome Republican votes as this candidacy is probably the most socially conservative in the 4-person field, as Mark's candidacy for Lieutenant Governor in 2012 was definitely the most socially conservative, even with 2 Establishment Republicans in that L.G. race.

The Revived Citizens Party will remind voters that America is a nation, a nation of citizens where citizenship should have every advantage.  Unfortunately, Adam Smith and the Millionaire 113th Congress, in general, have lost sight of that fact.  It's past time that we, the citizens, sent them a wake-up call.

Mark Greene for Federal Way Mayor

I am officially announcing for Mayor of Federal Way, today, as I was able to obtain sufficient resources to file with the Elections Department on May 18th, 2017, and able to run a full campaign until the August 1st Primary, and hopefully beyond. This All-American Relief campaign will start picking up steam around the beginning of June, as now I'm concentrating on getting about 100 signs on the ground.  Next week, I will be sending out press releases to the major publications in our area: the  Times , the  News Tribune , and the  Mirror.   For more information about this campaign of common sense philosophy and patriotic fervor, see my website and keep up with the posts on this blog, as they usually come about twice a week or more. -- Mark Greene, Official Candidate for Mayor of Federal Way Campaign Website:  ALL-AMERICAN RELIEF Campaign Blog:   FW Politics

The "D" Halo

Mission Impossible:   Trying to Get Democrats to Disaffect from Corporate Democrats I was a little shocked when the Young Democrats from Pierce County invited me to be a part of their endorsement process for the 9th District Congress office.  Imagine, Democratic activists, of all people, not giving the corporate incumbent congressman, who has a "D" next to his name, a free pass to another two years in Congress.   I got over my shock and answered their questionnaire, and now I'm waiting for their decision. Little has been more nerve wracking in this campaign for Congress than for Democrats in this now overwhelmingly Democratic district to tell me they're effectively going to vote for Adam Smith because he has a "D" next to his name, the party-line vote.  Smith votes for more bad legislation that ordinary Democrats would disagree with than you can shake a stick at, but he gets a pass because most people don't know how he v...
